The Kabete National Polytechnic is seeking for qualified candidates to fill the
following positions:
1. Senior Security Officer Job group M
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the institutions security policy framework as
outlined in the overall strategic plan to ensure efficient and effective
management of security processes.
2. Create awareness on the security policy and sensitize staff to ensure the
security procedures are understood and complied to.
3. Act as a liaison and primary contact with external law enforcement agencies
to advise and inform the polytechnics leadership of relevant and current
issues.
4. Approve and implement safety security training and awareness programmes
in line with regulatory and internal requirements to ensure of all institutional
participants observe proper security practices.
5. Conduct sporadic checks of the security in the premises to ensure
compliance with the procedure in line with the proper standards.
6. Review relevant reports on security initiatives and provide feedback to the
management on achievements and also develop action plans for
recommendations on change of security strategies, policies and procedures.
7. Review and update security practices and procedures to ensure all controls
within the institution are properly functioning.
8. Liase with other arms of law and attend court cases when necessary to
address security issues within the Polytechnic.

Qualification
1. Bachelor’s degree in security studies from a recognized institution.
2. Must have served in the disciplined forces in the rank of inspector/
Captain and honorably discharged.
3. At least 6 years’ experience in a senior security position.
4. Experience in a learning Institution is an added advantage
5. Should be computer Literate
6. Leadership, conflict management skills and ability to work well within a
team.

Security Officer- Job Group K
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Implement the departmental strategy security policies and security policy
framework to ensure efficient and effective management of security
processes in the Polytechnic.
2. Lead in the development of operation and tactical security work plans and
schedules including work station assignments to ensure cohesion of the
team.
3. Deliver security solutions at the Polytechnic within the agreed framework
and oversee the implementation of security initiative to ensure achievement
of departmental objectives according to departmental plan.
4. Implement and manage comprehensive safety and security education
awareness for employees and security personnel to ensure all institutional
participants observe proper security practices.
5. Review and escalate issues assess satisfaction of services provided and
identify action plans for improvement or change in security strategy to
ensure quality services standards are maintained.
6. Ensure security officers are equipped with the necessary work skills and
updated on a continuous basis to facilitate the overall institutional
deliverables.
7. Develop reports including daily occurrence reports, transit reports safety and
security reports to be reviewed by the senior security officer to ensure
security issues are handled in a timely manner.
8. Confirm authorization of all equipment’s entering and leaving the institution
to establish proper responsibility and provide security of equipment.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Security studies or any other relevant field from a
recognized institution
2. Must have served in the disciplined forces and honorably discharged.
3. At least 3 years’ experience in a security position .

4. Experience in a learning institution an added advantage.
5. Leadership, conflict management skills and ability to work well within a
team.
